Following South Africa’s former captain Faf du Plessis, former England cricketer Moeen Ali has decided to leave the Indian Premier League (IPL) and play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In an Instagram post, Moeen Ali said, “Playing in Pakistan is always incredible, the quality of cricket is outstanding, and the passion and intensity from the crowd push you to bring your best,”

He added, “Playing in Pakistan has always been a fantastic experience. The standard of cricket and the passion of the fans is remarkable, and it pushes you to perform your best. I’m excited for this new journey and the memories ahead, Insha’Allah.”

Earlier, South Africa’s former captain Faf du Plessis, said the decision comes after 14 seasons in the IPL and described PSL as a new professional challenge.

Du Plessis said India gave him memorable experiences and respect and added that he hopes to return in the future. He stated that PSL offers strong talent and energy and shared that he is looking forward to experiencing Pakistan’s cricket environment and hospitality.
