Google recently released Android 15, and just a month later, users are already receiving the second developer preview of this update. The new preview brings several fresh features to the Android platform.
A significant focus of Android 15 is on improving satellite connectivity, a feature that has been gaining popularity since its introduction in the iPhone 14 series. With this update, Android 15 enhances the user experience for phones equipped with satellite connectivity by providing clear indicators of network connections.
Users will now see the name of the satellite network displayed on the top left of their screen, an icon on the top right, and a notification confirming satellite connectivity. Furthermore, Android 15 improves the functionality of SMS/MMS and RCS applications when used over satellite networks for sending messages.
Android 15 is bringing advancements to flip phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Motorola Razr Plus, known for their compact cover screens. This update allows app developers to optimize their apps for these smaller screens, making apps more useful and accessible on foldable devices.
