Coronavirus in India: Police brings Hindu God of death to spread message of staying home

The police of Indian state Andhra Pradesh took the awareness campaign of  coronavirus pandemic on the next level.

Police brought the theater artistes dressed up as Yamaraj (Hindu God of death) and his assistant Chitragupta to the streets to make people understand the intensity of the situation and also asking people to stay at home during the lockdown.

Yamraj was advising people to stay inside with their family adding that If your karma is bad, come to the roads and if people want to be happy stay inside the house.

Yumraj also said that his assistant Chitragupta, who logs sins, is ready to register people’s sins.

Note that there are 1,637 confirmed cases of coronavirus in India whereas 45 people have lost their lives due to Covid-19 and 148 people have been recovered from the virus.

The Indian government had announced a $22.6bn economic stimulus plan on Thursday to poor through direct cash transfer and food handouts. A quarter of 1.3 billion people in India live below the poverty line.
