A dope-addled bodybuilder assassinated a loving father of two who stomped on his foot by accident

After inadvertently stepping on a loving father’s foot, a STEROID-addled and coke-addled bodybuilder murdered him.

As the father-of-two celebrated his birthday in Bolton, Robert Owen Greenhalgh, 31, punched Robert Smethurst, 36.

At approximately 11.40 p.m., loving father Robert was out with his cousin Aaron Bates at the Luxe Lounge when he accidently stepped on Greenhalgh’s foot.

According to The Mirror, he apologised and there were no additional issues throughout the night since the two parties parted on good terms.

However, at around 1.30 a.m., Greenhalgh unprovokedly attacked Aaron before hitting Robert with the force of a “heavyweight boxer,” according to a Manchester Crown Court hearing.

Aaron was able to break his fall and just sustained a concussion, while Robert’s strike caused acute brain injuries before he ever struck the ground.

After his brutal attack, Greenhalgh allegedly puffed up his chest and said, “Who else wants some?”

He then drove away in his work van, despite the fact that he was inebriated and drugged.

The ruthless thug has labelled himself the “hardest c*** in the North West” in the past.

After admitting manslaughter in the aftermath of the attack on September 2 last year, he was labelled “dangerous” and sentenced to more than 11 years in prison.

“Not for one second did you contemplate that which you had done, other than to gloat in your success and incite others to attack you,” said Judge Anthony Cross QC, who handed down the sentence.

Amanda, Robert’s distraught wife, boldly told the court how the death of her soulmate had turned her life upside down, branding Greenhalgh a “coward.”

She stated, ” “All at once, I was robbed of my spouse, closest friend, happiness, and future.

“How could someone assault my husband in such a brutal and vicious manner when he did nothing to deserve it?

“My husband’s affection for me is overwhelming confirmation of what a wonderful man he is. I miss him more than I can express in words.”

Greenhalgh had no prior criminal records, but a police phone interview indicated a “predilection” for violence.

On one occasion, he boasted of “knocking out” three individuals. The guy also boasted about his extensive cocaine usage and how he bulked up using steroids.

The bodybuilder was discovered in a motel near Leigh before to his arrest.

In his work vehicle, cops discovered a syringe with traces of testosterone and trenbolone, a steroid often used by veterinarians to stimulate muscular growth and appetite in cattle.

Greenhalgh claimed to have consumed £50,000 worth of the class A drug in six months, according to prosecutor Rob Hall.

The attacker had been drinking excessively and snorting cocaine before arriving to the Luxe Lounge on the night of his savage attack.
