Dense fog has blanketed in various cities of Punjab resulted in the closure of motorways.
According to details, sections of the motorway in Punjab closed as heavy fog blankets the province.
The Motorway spokesperson said Grand Trunk Road closed from Kala Shah Kaku to Hassan Abdal due to heavy fog.
The M3 and M4 motorways closed from Multan to Khanewal and Shamkot to Shorkot.
Heavy fog reported in Thokar Niaz Baig, Manga Mandi, Phool Nagar, Pitoki, Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal and Mian Channu.
The M3 between Lahore and Multan has also closed.
Visibility on the motorways is at 10 metres.
The dense fog also disrupted flight operations at Faisalabad airport due to which several flights have been cancelled.
In Lahore, dense fog has disrupted traffic in the city as visibility reduced to low levels.
Meteorological Department today predicted the weather to be cold and dry in Lahore.
The maximum temperature in the city is likely to be 18 degrees Celsius, whereas, 5 degrees Celsius at lowest.
Severe fog is expected in Lahore, Sargodha, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Okara, Sahiwal during night and morning hours.
The weather will be cold and dry in most parts of Punjab province.
On the other hand, mostly sunny and cold weather expected to remain for 24 hours in Karachi today.
The maximum temperature in the city expected to remain in the range of 13 to 15 degrees centigrade with 50 to 60 per cent humidity.
However, Karachiites preparing of the severe cold wave expected this week in the city.
Dry weather with cool/cold night and misty/foggy morning was likely to prevail over central and upper parts whereas hazy/misty morning was likely to prevail elsewhere in the Sindh province during the next 24 hours.
