The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted scattered light rains for Peshawar...
Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms on Wednesday evening/night, Thursday, and Friday.
This forecast is based on a shallow westerly wave affecting Pakistan’s western and upper regions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Areas likely to be affected include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Karak, and Waziristan. The weather will be partly cloudy in other parts of the province.
This wet spell may lead to moderate to heavy rainfall, potentially causing landslides in vulnerable areas. Windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning could damage crops, electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels. Travelers and farmers should exercise caution during this period, as temperatures are expected to decrease.
In Peshawar, maximum temperatures are predicted to range from 31-33 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 30-32 C on Friday. Some isolated rainfall has already occurred in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past 24 hours, while dry weather prevailed in most areas. Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, and Peshawar recorded maximum temperatures of 32 C, with varying relative humidity levels.
