Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience widespread rain, wind, and thunderstorms starting from April 25th.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is forecasted to enter western Pakistan on the night of April 24th. It will then spread across most of the upper regions by April 26th.
This weather system will bring rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with some heavy falls and snowfall in high mountain areas. The affected areas include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, and others from April 25th (evening/night) to April 29th.
There may be flash floods in local streams, landslides in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and risks of wind/hailstorms and lightning affecting people, crops, and structures like electric poles. Farmers should take precautions, and tourists should avoid unnecessary travel from April 26th to April 29th. Temperatures will likely decrease during this wet period.
