Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, has expressed profound gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for attending the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

He described Pakistan’s participation as a strong reflection of longstanding friendship, mutual respect, and brotherly ties between the two nations.

In a statement posted on X on Sunday, the Iranian ambassador said, “On behalf of the Iranian government and people, I thank Pakistan for participating in the funeral of our martyred leader. I also extend my gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Field Marshal, and the Deputy Prime Minister.”

He further expressed appreciation to Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, as well as other senior officials, religious scholars, political leaders, and cultural personalities who attended the funeral ceremony.

The ambassador stated that Pakistan participated in the historic ceremony at a high level, calling its presence a clear indication of the deep-rooted relations between Iran and Pakistan.

He emphasized that the gesture reflects the historic friendship, shared values, and mutual respect that have long defined bilateral relations between the two countries.

He added that Iran and Pakistan have consistently supported each other during both difficult and peaceful times, and that Pakistan’s participation in the funeral further strengthens the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between the two neighboring nations.
