In Islamabad, Hyundai has introduced Pakistan's first electric vehicle (EV), marking a significant advancement in the nation's automotive industry, albeit with a notable price.

Hyundai Pakistan launched its debut luxury electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5, at an event in Lahore. This premium crossover SUV marks the brand's entry into the electric vehicle market in Pakistan.

“It’s more than just a drive—it’s a revolution on wheels, bringing style, sustainability, and sheer excitement to every mile you conquer!” The company stated this in a Facebook post alongside a video.

As per the company's announcement, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is priced at Rs 22,500,000, positioning it as a premium electric vehicle (EV). Boasting luxurious attributes and a range of modern features, it distinguishes itself from rival models in the market.

The Hyundai five-seater EV in Pakistan is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a lithium-ion battery with a 72.6 KWh capacity, delivering an output of 253 kW. The electric motor provides a maximum power of 225 kW (301.6 hp) and generates 605 Nm of torque, offering an all-electric range of up to 430 km per charge. Additionally, the car features a single-speed reduction column-type shift-by-wire transmission.

Measuring 4635mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1605mm in height, the car features a wheelbase of 3,000mm and a ground clearance of 170mm.

The car offers a choice of six colors: Atlas White, Abyss Black, Ecotronic Grey, Lucid Blue Pearl, Digital Teal-Green Pearl, and Gravity Gold Matte.

This debut underscores the increasing interest in sustainable transportation and reinforces the worldwide shift towards electric mobility.

It provides consumers with more choices for environmentally friendly driving, furthering the broader goal of reducing emissions and advocating for cleaner transportation solutions.
