The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has currently banned Bigo Live app in the country and Pakistani cricket players were using the mobile application.
According to the details, PTA has currently banned the app for promoting vulgar content after which a number of users have lost a source of income.
Among these are some of the famous Pakistani cricketers, both active and retired, who were not only interacting with their fans but also earned good sums of money through the app.
The sources said that despite the ban, a large number of Pakistanis are still accessing the app through VPNs. Some of the leading cricketers who are known to be using Bigo include Mohammad Amir, Fawad Alam, Azeem Ghumman, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Razzaq, Yasir Hameed, Imran Farhat, Asad Ali, Humayun Farhat, Imran Nazir, Sohaib Maqsood, Zulfiqar Babar, Sohail Tanvir, Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, Salman Butt along with a few others.
It is to be noted that if the players are able to complete their monthly targets, they receive commissions and salaries from their team. For instance, if a player earns 210 beans, it converts to $1. If the target is set to 100,000 diamonds, the user earns around 470$ in addition to a monthly salary, which is 50% of the converted amount i.e. around $235. Thus a player can earn a total of over $700 from the application.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked video application Bigo and warned TikTok for the last time as PTA’s next target is to block TikTok from Pakistan.
According to details, various complaints have been registered against TikTok for spreading vulgarity and immorality against society. Numerous complaints were also filed against the video App Bigo. In response to the complaints, PTA has blocked Bigo today.
