Sri-Lanka white washes Pakistan in T20 series

Sri-Lanka has won third T20 international against Pakistan by 13 runs here on Wednesday at the Gadaffi stadium Lahore.

Sarfaraz eleven has suffered setback of 3-0 whitewash on home series.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first and sent in Danushka Gunathilaka and Sadeera Samarawickrama to open their innings.

Sarfaraz eleven dropped ample of catches, which largely went unpunished as a third-string Sri Lanka side posted a 148-run target hardly sizable by any means.

However, familiar batting woes emerged as Pakistan failed to chase down even that modest looking target.

Almost all the bowlers had done a decent job for Pakistan except for Shinwari.

Pakistan had made three changes in the side, bringing in batsmen Iftikhar Ahmad, Haris Sohail and medium pacer Usman Shinwari and dropped recalled flopped duo of batsmen, Ahmad Shahzad and Umer Akmal and young pacer Muhammad Husnain.

The Sri-Lankan side made five changes in the side and Minod Bhanuka, Shehan Jayasuriya, Avishka Fernando, Isuru Udana and Nuwan Pradeep and included.Sadeera Samarawickrana (wk), Angelo Perera, Oshada Fernando, Lahiru Madushanka, Lahiru Kumara.

Wanindu Hasaranga was player of the match for his 3-21 (wickets of Sohail, Sarfaraz and Asif)

Wanindu Hasaranga also won player of the series trophy for taking 9 wickets in the series.

The young guest team has already won the series by winning two back to back matches, defeating home side by 64 runs in the opener and the outplaying them by 35 runs in the second game.

Interestingly the Lankan side had batted first and managed to beat a strong home side.
