Past champions Novak Djokovic, Rafa Nadal, and Serena Williams have all entered the Western & Southern Open in New York next month and will act as a tune-up for the United States open, on Wednesday, tournament organizers said.

Organizers of the 20-28 August event, which this year was moved from Cincinnati due to COVID-19, said defending champions Daniil Medvedev and Madison Keys are also among the initial entries.

The ATP Masters 1000 tournament will be the first one on the men’s calendar since the play was interrupted due to the virus in March.
