On Thursday at 12:00 AM, Barcelona will play their farewell home game against Bayern Munich at Camp Nou (PST).

When asked to sum up the former Bayern Munich striker in three words prior to the match between the two teams, Xavi responded: “Winner, Quality, and goal scorer”.

Additionally, the former Barcelona midfielder described Bayern as

“one of the best teams in the world”.

“I expect a very intense opponent in Bayern, very physical, very well worked. We consider them as one of the best teams in the world. Regardless of what happens in Milan, we must show that we are at a good level, with our gameplay, and with victory,” he said.

The 42-year-old claimed that the Catalonian team needs more than a “miracle” to advance to the Champions League’s knockout round.

“Miracle? We need more than a miracle, we have a small hope although we are in a very uncomfortable situation. In football, sometimes the one who deserves it doesn’t always win,” he said.

“The qualification does not lie in our hands, but we have to try and win no matter what happens in Milan,” he added.

The outcome of the match between Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen will either determine Barça’s destiny or give them a lifeline before they face the German champions, thus they will already know before the game even begins whether or not it will matter.

Barca is now in third place in Group C, three points behind Inter Milan, with four points entering Matchday 5. If Inter triumphs, Barça will be disqualified from the European League and advance to the Round of 16.
