On the third day of the current Test in Multan, opener Imam-ul-Haq is back on the field after visiting the hospital.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday, the opener underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan after he “felt uneasy in his right hamstring.”

Mohammad Rizwan, a wicketkeeper-batsman, and Abdullah Shafique started the second innings for Pakistan without Imam. At tea on the third day of the second Test in Multan, Pakistan is 136-3, but they still need 219 runs to tie the series with England.

Pakistan faces a challenging 355-run target from the visitors. Imam-ul Haq and Saud Shakeel are still unbeaten with 25 and 32 runs, respectively, as the hosts try to reach the target. In the second session of the day, three superb deliveries from England’s pacers sent Pakistan’s top-order hitters packing.

After Anderson zipped one around the edge of his bat and into the off stump, Rizwan was left perplexed. Imam’s replacement as the opener, the wicketkeeper, scored 30 runs.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, was taken out by Ollie Robinson for the second time throughout the game. Azam, who only managed to accumulate one run, was clean bowled after leaving a delivery that jarred horribly off the ground.

Opening hitter Abdullah Shafique of Pakistan was the third batter to leave the plate after being castled by a quick pitch from Mark Wood. The right-hander used four fours and two sixes to score 45 runs.

On Sunday, England‘s second innings ended with an all-out score of 275 after Harry Brook and Ben Duckett combined for 108 of the visitors’ points.

Abrar Ahmed and Zahid Mahmood, two Pakistani spinners, split seven wickets between them. Abrar, who was making his debut, concluded with an 11-wicket haul.

Pakistan lost their first innings after being bowled for 202 runs, giving up a 79-run advantage.

As a result of losing the first Test in Rawalpindi, Pakistan is already behind 1-0 in the three-match series. It should be mentioned that England won the toss and used their depth of batting to great advantage to win the first Test on Monday by 74 runs on a dead track that provided little to the bowlers.

With seven individual hundreds and five fifty-pluses, Rawalpindi produced 1,768 runs in four innings, which is the third-highest total in Test history.

England is now in Pakistan for their first Test tour since 2005 after declining to go during the intervening years due to security concerns. Between December 17 and 21, Karachi will host the third and final Test of the series.
