The winners of the ICC Player of the Month awards for November 2022 were revealed today by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Jos Buttler claims the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award.

Jos Buttler, the captain of England, is named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month after leading his team to the T20 World Cup victory in Australia last month. Sidra Ameen, Pakistan’s opening batter, is named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month after scoring enormous totals in the recent successful ODI series against Ireland at home.

Following a global poll among media representatives, ICC Hall of Famers, former international players, and fans registered at ICC-cricket.com, Buttler and Ameen receive the prizes.

Last month, England’s victorious captain Buttler confirmed his status as one of the game’s most intimidating batters. A Player of the Match performance in Brisbane’s thrilling 20-run triumph over New Zealand marked the beginning of November. The opener, who was playing in his 100th T20I, scored 73 runs off of just 47 balls to give England’s campaign some much-needed momentum.

He then put on what is likely his performance of the competition after England had assured their passage to the knockout rounds. He displayed the entire range of his strokeplay by hammering 80 from 49 balls in the semi-final against India as he was attempting to reach the winning score of 169. In Adelaide, he and Alex Hales shared a record-breaking opening partnership of 170 that helped the team win by 10 wickets.

Although Buttler’s performance in the Final was underwhelming by his usual standards, he still managed to score 26 runs against a dangerous Pakistan bowling attack. After that, he led the team’s efforts on the field while serving as a captain with distinction, causing Pakistan to lose and giving England its second T20 World Cup championship.

Buttler wins the prize from a field that also included Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and colleague and fellow World Cup winner Adil Rashid. Both players had major on-field contributions that helped their teams advance to the grand finale of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

“I want to thank the fans for voting for me as the ICC Player of the Month for November,” Buttler said in response to winning the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award. This honor is a result of my colleagues’ work throughout the most amazing month ever in cricket, which culminated in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup victory in Australia.

It was one of the best months of cricket I’ve ever played a part in, and it was quite special to coach a team to the ultimate honor of winning the world championship.

Jos continues to demonstrate to the world why he is one of the best white ball players to have ever graced the game, said former England international and current member of the ICC Player of the Month voting panel Lydia Greenway. Fearless, talented, and a great leader, she entered the competition with large shoes to fill in the wake of Eoin Morgan’s departure. In terms of his own and his team’s performances, being adamant about doing things his way paid off greatly.

With her outstanding performances against Ireland in the ODI series in November, Sidra Ameen wins the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award, becoming Pakistan’s second consecutive winner following Nida Dar in October.

Opening batter Ameen began the month with her greatest score in ODIs, a staggering 176 not out, as the hosts earned a convincing 128-run victory in the first game. Ameen amassed 277 runs during the series and was only dismissed once. Ameen produced another unbroken score of 91 from 93 balls in the second ODI to help Ireland win by nine wickets, rendering Ireland’s bowlers similarly helpless to stop her.

Ameen won the Player of the Series award despite ultimately losing her wicket in the third ODI, capping up a spectacular series and a strong run of performances in 2022.

Ameen won the ICC Women’s Player of the Month title for the first time, defeating Gaby Lewis of Ireland and Natthakan Chantham of Thailand, both of whom scored a ton of runs in their respective matches throughout the month.
