The catch that England wicketkeeper Olive Pope made of Pakistani batter Saud Shakeel during the fourth day of the second Test match between Pakistan and England at Multan has been questioned by a number of commentators.

The decision to run out Shakeel, who was batting at 94 at the time, has been called controversial by a number of cricketers, including the captain of the Pakistani team, Babar Azam.

Ollie Pope made the catch after the ball played by Shakeel, which was bowled by England’s Mark Wood and went behind the wickets. After the bowler, wicket-keeper, and other players all pleaded for a caught behind, Aleem Dar went to the third umpire to get his opinion on the situation.

The third umpire made the call that Shakeel was out of the game after carefully examining the catch. People took to social media to express their disapproval of the decision, using the word “doubtful” to describe it.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan also objected to the third umpire’s decision.
