Toni Kroos, a midfielder for Real Madrid, accomplished a huge victory after his squad upset Atletico Madrid’s rivalry in the Copa del Rey quarterfinal on Thursday.

With the triumph, Kroos has now amassed 250 victories while donning a Real Madrid jersey.

The German moved from Bayern Munich, a powerhouse in the Bundesliga, to Real Madrid nine years ago. He has five UEFA Champions League trophies since moving to Spain and has been an important member of Real Madrid’s midfield. He has also won the La liga championship three times while playing for the team.

It should be mentioned that Real Madrid won 3-1 thanks to goals from Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema in extra time.

The Brazilian winger’s score was especially satisfying for him because, prior to the game, a crude effigy of him wearing his shirt was hanging from a bridge near Real Madrid’s practise field.

When defender Stefan Savic was dismissed in the extra period of the tense, gripping derby match, Diego Simeone’s team lost.

Players for Atletico believed that Ceballos ought to have been dismissed sooner after he fouled Geoffrey Kondogbia while still receiving a warning.

Atletico goalkeeper Oblak argued, “I think it deserved a red (for Savic), but they should have had one too when we were 1-0 up.”

“They may have had a second yellow, but (the referee) determined it how he chose, which is tricky, but the team fought until the end, and we tried everything we could to score.”

After 19 minutes, Alvaro Morata gave Atletico the lead, but Rodrygo’s slalom run past three defenders and smooth finish brought Madrid level with 11 minutes remaining.

Los Blancos advanced to the final four for the first time since 2019 following Savic’s red card in the 99th minute. Benzema scored off a ball from Marco Asensio, and Vinicius scored late.
