Ihsanullah of the Multan Sultans has stated his desire to be the top bowler in the ongoing eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Ihsanullah stated in an interview with media: “My goal is to be the best bowler in the PSL. Multan Sultans will undoubtedly be champions under my leadership.”

“I will represent Pakistan if God so chooses. I’m doing my best, and the rest is up to the coaches.”

The pacer is currently the PSL 8’s leading wicket-taker, with 12 wickets in four matches.

When asked about his favourite wicket in the competition thus far, he responded: “I’ve got two. The first belongs to Jason Roy, and the second to Babar bhai [Babar Azam]. Taking Babar’s wickets makes you happy because he is the best batter in the world, as you are aware.”

The pacer, who is from Swat, also discussed his current performance, saying that his hard work leading up to the competition is now paying off.

“I put in a lot of effort before PSL. I returned home for one day after the Pakistan Cup. Following that, I relocated to Lahore to train at the Paklions International Academy. I also spent ten days at Lahore’s National High Performance Centre. My efforts have paid off, and I am now the top bowler in the PSL. Before the PSL, I expected to give a strong performance for my team “He stated.

Ihsanullah stated that his favorite bowler is former legendary fast bowler Waqar Younis, and that he assisted him in correcting his run-up and wrist position.

Meanwhile, when asked about his upbringing, the 20-year-old stated: “I am a native of Matta Swat, where I spent my entire cricket career before moving on to give trials in Mardan. When I was first elected, I was not elected, but I kept working hard.”

It is worth noting that Sultans have won three consecutive matches in the PSL 8 after losing their first match against Lahore Qalandars.

In addition to receiving the Supernova Trophy, the victor will also receive a check for Rs120 million, while the losers will each receive a check for Rs48 million.

Islamabad United will try to become the most successful team by winning the trophy three times, while Qalandars will try to make history by becoming the first team to win back-to-back championships.
