Many people believed that Los Blancos needed to strengthen their squad, but the club had a different opinion.

Cancelo was one of the players linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the club had no interest in bringing him on board.

The Portuguese full-back left Manchester City for a loan spell at Bayern Munich, but Cancelo’s agent attempted to entice the Spanish giants to make an offer.

However, the 14-time UCL champions were not even interested in discussing a possible signing.

Instead, they rely on right-backs Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez, whose contracts expire in 2025 and 2024, respectively, and Alvaro Odriozola, whose contract expires at the end of the current season.
