Multan Sultans pacer Ihsanullah, who won the best player award in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, was greeted with heroism at his home.
Ihsanullah returned to his hometown on Monday after winning two PSL 8 awards. Everyone, from friends to family members, greeted Ihsanullah with open arms.
Ihsanullah became the first emerging player in PSL history to win the tournament’s best player award. The right-arm pacer took 22 wickets and put in a strong performance to earn two awards.
Speaking in an interview after receiving his award, Ihsanullah thanked Allah.
“Thanks to Almighty Allah for this award. I would like to dedicate this award to my father who supported me throughout my journey,” he said.
Throughout the tournament, Ihsanullah was Multan’s preferred bowler. Multan, led by Mohammad Rizwan, reached the PSL final for the third year in a row.
In response to a question about his learning experience during his first PSL season, Ihsanullah credited Rizwan and the company. “My knowledge has greatly expanded. Rizwan Bhai and other seniors backed me up. Alhamdulillah, I was able to perform for my team. I will try to maintain this level of performance in the future “He came to a conclusion.
Prior to Ihsanullah, no bowler had ever won the tournament’s player of the year award. Ravi Bopara (2016, Karachi Kings), Kamran Akmal (2017, Peshawar Zalmi), Luke Ronchi (2018, Islamabad United), Shane Watson (2019, Quetta Gladiators), Babar Azam (2020, Karachi Kings), Sohaib Maqsood (2021, Multan Sultans), and Mohammad Rizwan are the previous seven winners of this award (2022, Multan Sultans).
