Head Coach Grant Bradburn, Director Mickey Arthur, Captain Babar Azam, and Manager Analytics Hassan Cheema have reached a consensus on including 12 to 13 players in Pakistan’s World Cup squad.
The likely players to be part of the squad include Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Usama Mir, and Agha Salman. Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Jnr are also being considered for the squad.
Among other players under consideration, two will be selected from Shan Masood, Abdullah Shafique, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Haris, and Tayyab Tahir.
The remaining two to three names will be finalized in the coming days.
The ICC World Cup 2023 will feature 10 teams competing for the title across 10 venues from October 5 to November 19, with the tournament opener and the final set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
