The Karachi Whites defeated the Abbottabad area by nine runs on Sunday at National Bank Stadium in Karachi to win the National T20 Cup 2023–24.

With Shahnawaz Dahani taking three wickets for 16 runs in his four-over session, the bowlers impressively defended the mark.

Abbottabad finished with 146/9 despite valiant efforts by Atizaz Habib Khan (43* off 26) and Fayyaz Khan (23 off 9) to press for victory with quick blows at the backend.

In addition to Dahani’s skill with the ball, Danish Aziz, Aftab Ibrahim, and Anwar Ali all claimed two wickets apiece.

Earlier, Karachi, captained by Asad Shafiq, chose to bat first and set a goal of 155/9.

Khurram Manzoor, who opened the innings for Sindh, demonstrated an aggressive attitude by scoring a quick 53 off just 36 deliveries. His performance helped to raise Sindh’s total together with that of Omair Yousuf, who scored 36 off 30 balls, Azam Khan, who scored 14 off 8, and Danish Aziz, who scored 22 off 12.

Shahab Khan and Adil Naz, the bowlers for Abbottabad, kept up the pressure throughout the innings. Adil and Shahab both claimed significant wickets; Adil took two significant wickets and Shahab four. Moreover, Fayyaz Khan claimed two wickets.

Abbottabad’s top order suffered early blows when chasing, as important batsmen including Sajjad Ali (1), Fakhar Zaman (19), and Kamran Ghulam (12) left the game somewhat early.

Although they didn’t stay in the middle for very long, the middle order contributed little, and it wasn’t enough.

Their opponents’ bowling attack, led by Dahani, maintained pressure while taking vital wickets at critical junctures in their defense.
