MS Dhoni is considered one of India’s cricket legends, with a large fan base and many fan groups supporting him. His popularity in India has grown even more due to the strong support from the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Chennai Super Kings (CSK), making him a legendary figure.

One of Dhoni’s fans showed his dedication by spending INR64,000 on black market tickets for the ongoing IPL 2024 match so that his three daughters could see Dhoni play live. He said he bought the tickets but still needs to pay their school fees.

“I didn’t get the tickets, so I bought them in black. It was a total of ₹64,000. I am yet to pay the school fees. But we wanted to see MS Dhoni just once. My three daughters and I are very happy,” the father told Sportwalk Chennai.

“My father has worked very hard to get these tickets. We were very happy when Dhoni came to play,” one of his young daughters said.

The father and his daughters, who wore the yellow CSK jerseys, participated in CSK’s signature fan act of blowing whistles.

The father’s statement about not yet paying his daughters’ school fees received mixed reactions from the public.

Remember, CSK beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by seven wickets in the IPL match held in Chennai on Monday, moving them to the fourth spot. CSK won the first two games of the season but lost their two away games against Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

MS Dhoni, who resigned as CSK captain in March 2022, has led the team to IPL victory five times and to the series finals 10 times.
