Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has apologized for once again predicting the outcome of the Pak-Ind clash in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Last year, he predicted that India would win the match saying, “I informed Shoaib Akhtar that Pakistan’s participation is pointless; you should grant us a walkover. You’ll play, you’ll lose again, and you’ll be upset. Our team is incredibly solid and potent, and they will easily defeat you,” Harbhajan had told Indian media.

However, Babar Azam-led Pakistan proved it wrong on October 24 at the Dubai International Stadium. The arch-rivals are slated to face each other once again in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on October 23.

When both teams faced each other last year, Pakistan thrashed their arch-rivals India without giving away a single wicket. Skipper Babar (79 unbeaten) and Mohammad Rizwan (68 unbeaten) completed the target of 152 with 13 balls to spare.

When confronted by the Indian media, Harbhajan refused to speak ahead of the clash later this year and said, “We have another T20 World Cup this year, and I won’t be making any statements or predicting the winner [between India and Pakistan].”

Mauka Mauka or whatever, we will watch what happens as the last time this occurred, things went awry,” he continued.
