Neils Feijen defeats Sanchez Ruiz 9-4 to claim 11th Euro title

Neils Feijen continued his dominance in the singles by defeating Francisco Sanchez Ruiz 9-4 to win the 2022 Dynamic Billard St Johan in Pongau Open and registered the 11th European championship overall.

After a series of stellar performances, the Dutch golfer defeated Sanchez Ruiz 9-4 in the Best of 17 in the final of the Pongau Open.

Sanchez Ruiz, after dropping the first rack in the championship match, recovered in time to win the following three racks to build an ominous 3-1 lead over Feijen.

The two players continued to engage in a back-and-forth struggle as they each had visits and attempted to force a mistake from their opponents until Feijen nailed the pink 4 in style to tie Sanchez Ruiz at 3-3.

The Dutchman, fueled by momentum, continued his unstoppable run by winning the following four racks to increase his advantage to 7-3.

Sanchez Ruiz, on the other hand, was not finished as he brilliantly accomplished the one-nine combination with a jump shot to narrow Feijen’s lead to 7-4.

The Spaniard’s counterattack, however, was his only positive contribution to the match, as an unfortunate scratch in the next rack allowed the Dutch to run away with the victory as he won the next two racks with overwhelming dominance.

Following this victory, the Dutch have won eleven Euro titles, with the most recent being six years ago.
