As Indian government announced the ban on Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) in India, the gaming app has now been removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The government on Wednesday banned PUBG and 118 other Chinese apps including Apus Launcher Pro, AppLock, WeChat Work, Baidu among others.
The removal of PUBG from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store means that you can no longer download the app. We searched for PUBG mobile on the App Store and Play Store but found no traces of the app.
However, if you already have the app installed on your phone, you can still use it because the app has not been blocked on the networks.
Once the Internet service providers block access to the app, you will no longer be able to play it even if you have it on your phone.
Apart from PUBG Mobile, the watered-down version of the app—PUBG Lite has also been removed from the Play Store and Google Play Store.
Announcing the ban on PUBG and other apps, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had said that the apps were “prejudicial to the sovereignty, integrity, defense of India and public order.”
The government had earlier banned TikTok and 58 other apps in India. The apps were first removed from the app stores and then blocked on the networks.
