Account will be deleted from Whatsapp If You Don’t Share Personal Data with Facebook

Social media giant Facebook will not allow you to use WhatsApp if you don’t share your personal information with the company.

Facebook has been alerting users in India about an update to its terms of service and privacy policy that will be effective starting February.

The update in the privacy policy expands on the “Information You Provide” section with details on what data Facebook collects from WhatsApp users and how it’s shared with other Facebook products and third parties.

The new policy also explained that “Automatically Collected Information” which comprises a huge variety of information that WhatsApp collects on its users. Some of this collected information includes the hardware model of your phone, operating system information, battery level, signal strength, app version, browser information, mobile network, connection information (including phone number, mobile operator or ISP), language and time zone, IP address, device operations information, and identifiers.

And this is only a small portion of what data WhatsApp collects on you, as revealed by the new policy.

Though, as per the new policy, people deteriorating to agree with these terms will lose access to their accounts, Facebook said in the notification to Indian users.
