WhatsApp rolls out 'event' creation for individual chats

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows users to create events in individual chats, enhancing the messaging experience. This feature, spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.1.18 on the Google Play Store, is still in development.

What is the New Events Feature?

The events feature enables users to create and share events in personal chats, similar to how events are created in group chats or community tabs. This addition ensures consistency across the platform.

How to Use the Events Feature?

To create an event, users can provide a name, an optional description, and a date to clarify the schedule. They can also:

• Set an end time to define the event’s duration.
• Add a location to specify where the event will take place.
• Link the event to an audio or video call for virtual meetings.

Once the event is created, it will appear in the individual chat, and the recipient will be notified. The recipient can then accept or decline the invitation, making the process simple and interactive.

This new feature is designed to streamline scheduling within WhatsApp, ensuring that users can plan and organize their activities more effectively. While it is currently in the testing phase, it promises to be a valuable tool for both personal and professional communication.
