Nato’s 70th anniversary summit was successfully carried out despite all the hindrances and disputes on Wednesday near London.
Nato’s Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has said, “We have been able to overcome our disagreements and continue to deliver on our core tasks to protect and defend each other.
The meeting ended up when US President Donald Trump criticized and called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ‘Two-faced’ for mocking him once at a meeting of Nato members.
According to international news sources, Trump had also canceled the press conference that was planned after the summit.
Given that Trump has also called Emanuel Macron’s statement as nasty in a meeting held before the summit.
The half-day summit was held at the Golf resort in the suburbs of London.
Officials have called the summit a success, according to the foreign news agency.
However, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan backed off from a threat to resist plans to defend northern and eastern Europe unless Kurdish fighters will be called terrorists by allies.
.@JustinTrudeau, @EmmanuelMacron, @BorisJohnson and other VIPs shared a few words at a Buckingham Palace reception Tuesday. No one mentions @realDonaldTrump by name, but they seem to be discussing his lengthy impromptu press conferences from earlier in the day. (Video: Host Pool) pic.twitter.com/dVgj48rpOP
