Saudi Arabia new employment law

Saudi Arabia’s government will outline a new employment law that will come into effect on Sunday, March 14.

The new law by the Saudi government means the employees will no longer require the approval of their previous chief to change jobs.

According to the details, the exit and re-entry visa reforms will also allow expatriate to travel outside Saudi Arabia without their employer’s approval after presenting a request.

A senior official at the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development told that more than seven million exile labourers will benefit from the “Improving Contractual Relationship” initiative.

To apply this new law simply aims to develop a more skilled workforce and overcome the conflicts among labourers and other employees.

Al-Harbi further added, “Employees who complete their first year of work will be able to switch jobs after the expiry of their notice period.”

Moreover, the labour substitution process will be managed by the job mobility services platform.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia had announced to ease restrictions that were imposed to curb the spread of coronavirus.

As per the international sources, restrictions on entertainment and other events will be eased from March 7. Moreover, cinemas, gyms, and sports areas will be reopened from March 7 as well.

However, all events and parties such as weddings, corporate events, and hotel events will remain suspended until further notice.

Inspection campaigns will be increased to ensure restrictions are being implemented well.

People have been requested to continue the following measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The authorities said that there would be an increase in spot checks to ensure everyone followed the rules.
