Every cellular phone user in Pakistan must have a smart mobile phone, which will help boost the economy and ensure the use of e-commerce by the common man, including businessmen.
The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication said that the government will provide smartphones on easy installments and at cheap rates. The price of such phones will range from 20 thousand rupees to 1 lakh rupees.

Smartphones will be provided to customers with a 20% to 30% advance payment. The mobile button-operated and simple phones currently used by G2 will stop working as soon as the supply of smartphones starts, as per the deadline set by the government.
Of the 190 million cellular phone users, 48 percent are on G2 technology, a feature of old-fashioned phones.
