The number of coronavirus cases in the country is increasing day by day and it is affecting not only the common man but also those who have been declared as the front line soldiers in this global pandemic.

According to figures provided by the National Emergency Operations Center, at least 253 Doctors and medical workers in the country have been infected with the coronavirus so far.

The report said that as of April 22, the COVID-19 had infected 124 doctors, 39 nurses and 90 health workers in the country of which 92 are in isolation, 125 are hospitalized and 33 have been discharged.

According to data provided by the ministry, 83 medical workers in Punjab have been infected with the virus so far, including 53 doctors, 12 nurses and 18 health workers.

Out of all these cases in Punjab, 15 are in isolation while 61 have been admitted to hospital and 8 have been discharged.

The number of affected medical workers in Sindh province is 56 and according to the report there are 19 doctors, 15 nurses and 22 health care providers of these, 41 have been admitted to the hospital while 15 have been discharged.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health, so far 30 medical workers have been affected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including 14 doctors, 4 nurses and 12 health workers and of these, 25 are currently in isolation, 4 have been admitted to hospitals and one has been discharged.

32 people are affected in Balochistan province, including 24 doctors and one nurse, while 7 health workers, 27 are in isolation, 4 are hospitalized and one has recovered and been discharged.

The report said that 31 medical workers have been affected in Islamabad, including 12 doctors, 7 nurses and 12 health workers, 26 of these persons are in isolation, one is in hospital and 3 have been discharged while one person has reportedly died.

4 medical workers have been affected in Azad Jammu and Kashmir so far, including a doctor and 3 health workers, while all four have recovered.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, 17 people have been infected with the virus so far, in which 2 Medics have lost their lives, while 14 are undergoing treatment in hospitals and one has recovered.
