Apple Watch Series 7 to have flat sides and bigger displays

The next-gen Apple Watch will feature the brand new hardware design in years, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. The reporter says that Apple Watch Series 7 will have flat sides and bigger displays. This shows that Apple‘s efforts to flatten the sides of every product in its lineup appear to be continuing.

The display is said to be bigger compared to the previous Watch Series 6. The casing will also be enlarged, with each model getting a 1mm bump to 41mm and 45mm.

Last week, some unverified images were unveiled that suggested the same 41mm and 45mm sizes.

The reporter further added that Apple will add some new watch faces to give users the full benefits of the large screens.

Apart from its physical appearance, the new Apple Watch Series 7 will also have an improved processor. However, there will be no major upgrade on the health side. Though Apple may include a body temperature sensor in the next model.

Apple’s newly updated design follows the every-three-years cadence for major Apple Watch hardware refreshes. The last design refreshed was when the company launched Watch Series 4.

Apple usually announces its upcoming products in the September event. So the unveiling of the Watch Series 7 may not be that far off. Last year the Series 6 and SE watches were the main headlines for the event, as the launch of the iPhone 12 was pushed forward to October.
