Eight makeup looks for festive mode

It is that time of the year! Eid is just around the corner and we’re sure you have got your outfits planned out from the hem on your kurta, to the colour of your heels. Now that the rest of your prep is done, we are here to help you figure out what makeup look will match your mood for Eid 2022. Whether your day is filled with biryani hogging or an extensive selfie session, we have a makeup look to match all your needs.

Add Some Spice From Our Dazzling Beauties

For this very important research, we are naturally going to comb through the prized archives of our favourite drama beauties and take inspiration from the stunning makeup that have embellished their traditional looks. From Saba Qamar to Iqra Aziz, our makeup records reflect only the best of the best makeup looks. So if you’re running low on makeup inspo for this festive season, get ready to take some notes.

Shimmery Makeup – For The Must-Click Sun-Kissed Selfie

If you’re lucky to have the sun make a special appearance for you on Eid day, grab this opportunity like no other and go for a sunkissed selfie. And what goes well with a sunkissed selfie than light dewy, shimmery makeup?

For this makeup look, we take inspiration from Saba Qamar in this jaw-dropping lehenga. Matching the vibe with her bedizened outfit, her makeup look is shimmery with a feathered touch. To get this look, go for foil frenzy lids, and add shimmery tones. Use a soft highlighter for the high points of your face, and tie it all together with a shimmery gloss.

Glam Goth – For Your Love Of Intensity

Now if you are one of those people who cannot get enough of their black or dark-hued outfits (no matter what time or season), we are here to (not convince you to go rainbow), but to help you rock that rebel-chic look like no other.

For this look, we take inspiration from none other than Ayeza Khan. The intense eye makeup in this look highlights her outfit’s intensity without killing the overall vibe. To get this look, start with frosty eyelids, and go crazy with a creamy kajal. Line some on your upper lid and smudge it for a blended look. Line your waterline intensely with the same kajal and apply mascara. To complete the look, go for a deep blush-toned matte lipstick.

Blood Red Lips – For A Bold Moment

This one is for our girls who like to shine through from across the room – with their outfits, and their bags, and their makeup, this one is for you. Our advice to you is to – do your thang! If being extra is your mood, then go with it.

For this makeup look, we take inspiration from none other than Mahira Khan in this beautiful black embellishment. Contrary to what one might think, bold red lip colour can never go wrong even with a light or dull-hued outfit. It can actually help you bring overall balance to your look. Your best bet with a bold lip would be to tone down the rest of your makeup, especially the eyes. A subtle eye and cheek makeup will harmonize with your bold lip.

To get the perfect red lips to look, lightly exfoliate your lips and leave them moisturise with a lip balm before you start your makeup. By the time you have to apply your lipstick, your lips are ready for a smooth overlining and lipstick application. Voila! You have a perfect pout.

A Matching Match – For When Your Outfit Is A Whole Mood

Do you have those phases when you are completely obsessed with a colour and it follows to your wardrobe, makeup, stationery, and even the kitchen sometimes? Well, if you are in that phase (or just want to match your makeup with your outfit, duh), this matching makeup look is for you.

For this makeup look, we have taken inspiration from Urwa Hocane in this stunning outfit and matching eyelids. While she is giving us major inspo, this look also tells us that matching your outfit with your makeup looks best when limited to eye makeup (furiously taking notes). To get this look, grab on to an eyeshadow palette that matches your outfit and pop that colour onto your lids. Finish the look with nude lips. This will help draw all the attention to the colour on your eyes.

Natural Nude – For Your Biryani Hogging Mood

Yes, we know, this is what you have been waiting for – a makeup look perfect for a day filled with delicacies and snacks. If this is your mood, you need something that stays on through biryani and zarda.

For this makeup mood, we have taken inspiration from Sarah Falak in this blue dress. To get this makeup look, go for a matte foundation and concealer base. Set it with a powder. Line your waterline with a waterproof kajal, and go with a waterproof mascara too (in case you eat anything spicy and start to tear up, your makeup will have your back). Finish the look with matte, nude lipstick. Even if some of your nude lipstick wears off, you will have enough time for a touch-up before anybody notices.

Blush Babe – For A Naturally Flushed Look

Festivities or not, we are in love with this makeup trend for a while now. Suitable for traditional and western wear, heavily blushed cheeks are one of the easiest makeup looks to ace.

For this makeup look, we take inspiration from Minal Khan. This minimum effort makeup look makes your cheeks look naturally flushed and if applied correctly, can give your face a lifted effect. To get this look, try a watery tint or a creamy blush. These textures deliver a natural finish.

Subtle Glam – For When You Are NOT In The Mood

Ideally, if you’re not in the mood to put on makeup, you should definitely go with your beautiful, bare face. However, if you do like the idea of looking makeup ready but are only up for the minimal effort, soft glam is your best friend.

We take inspiration from Maya Ali on this Instagram post. You can even go to town with a bare face (with moisturizer and sunscreen, obv) with this look. Use a dewy finish primer (or foundation/BB cream/CC cream). Put some blush and your fav eyeshadow on. You can also skip eyeshadow and just go with a kajal and liner, with a lipstick of your choice. To make this makeup look a bit more glam, we suggest you opt for a liquid highlighter. It will give your makeup look an oomph effect with minimum effort.

Smokey Eye & Nude Lip Combo – For When You’re In Two Minds

If you tell us that you have five makeup looks shortlisted for Eid, and can’t decide on one, we won’t blame you, for we completely understand. One can only hope to look dewy, but also have a bold moment, but not want to clash makeup elements, but also want to look effortless. Trust us, we get it.

For this mood, we have taken inspiration from Iqra Aziz, in this sexy selfie post. She has gone with a classic combo of smokey eyes and a nude lip. This makeup look can help you be dramatic, and then not-so-dramatic in one makeup look, without it clashing. It also draws attention to your beautiful eyes and adds drama for an intense effect.

To get this look, grab on to your smokey eyeshadow palette and start blending a deep brown in the crease of your eye. Pack some black pigment on your brush and start blending from the outer corner of your eye, towards the centre of your lid. Now if you’re a trained craftsman, you probably won’t need this trick, but if you aren’t, you can use a Q-tip to give your smokey eyeshadow a defined, cat eye (-ish) shape. Finish off the look with a nude lip, and a seamless highlight glow.
