Paying Respects

The 57th shahadat anniversary of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed was observed on September 12. Major Bhatti is the recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military honour, for his dauntless courage during the 1965 War, during which he laid down his life in defence of the nation. In remembrance of his sacrifice, General Officer Commanding Major General Haroon Ishaq Raja laid a floral wreath at Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed’s mausoleum in his native town Ladian, Gujrat. A Pakistan Army contingent presented the guard of honour at the wreath-laying ceremony. Various people from different walks of life, civil and military officials and relatives of shaheed were in attendance.
