Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan said that so far, more than one lakh tests have been conducted for Coronavirus in Karachi. Even on May 5, Punjab government conducted 5,030 tests among masses.
In his statement, Fayyaz Chohan said that more and more tests will make it possible to understand the seriousness of the virus and helps make best decisions.
The decision to alleviate or extend the lockdown restrictions will be made in consultation with all the stakeholders, he added, saying CM Usman Buzdar is keeping a close eye on the current virus situation.
He further added that the government will decide to open educational institutions after reviewing the situation in the last week of May.
Rumours regarding the opening of parks and ending lockdown by 15th of Ramadan are merely rumours, Fayyaz Chohan said. He therefore, requests the public not to listen and implement on the fake news spread by some tv channels and social media platforms.
Moreover, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has requested the people to take proper precautionary measures and maintain social distancing to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
In his message on Wednesday, CM Punjab requested people to stay at homes and follow health precautions directed by the government and health officials. “Stay at home and save yourself and others from coronavirus.”
Pakistan can only overcome the virus disasters if we take the situation seriously with all possible precautions, only our cooperation can beat this deadly pandemic, said the chief minister.
He said that Punjab government has made all equipment available to treat the virus affected patients.
The provincial government has earlier decided to alleviate lockdown restrictions. CM Usman Buzdar made the decisions presiding over a high-level meeting.
