Pakistan has recorded 64 deaths and 1,361 new cases due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours.

According the latest statistics by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), the total number of deaths from coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 12,772 while the total number of affected people has reached 575,941.

In the country, after 1,681 reported recoveries in a single day, so far 539,888 people have recovered from Coronavirus and the number of patients undergoing treatment is 23,281.

The highest number of deaths due to corona was in Punjab where 5,308 people lost their lives while 4,315 in Sindh, 2,058 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 494 in Islamabad, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 199 in Balochistan and In Azad Kashmir, 296 succumbed to the killer virus.

The number of corona cases in Islamabad is 43,901, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 71,490, in Sindh 257,089, in Punjab 169,474, in Balochistan 19,010, in Azad Kashmir 10,022 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4,955 people have been infected with Coronavirus.

It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan on Wednesday announced it is completely lifting the coronavirus restrictions, allowing all commercial activities across the country to operate normally and reopening public places.

The time-limit for shopping centers, markets, and amusement parks have been lifted with immediate effect, whereas indoor dining and wedding ceremonies will be permitted from March 15.

Cinemas and shrines will also reopen with stringent COVID-19 safety precautions from March 15. The condition of 50% work from home has also been removed forthwith.

The decisions, the statement said, can be reviewed whenever deemed necessary.
