According to the Pakistani Embassy in Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is the world’s unique standalone mountain.

The Umbwe route has a reputation of being the most challenging route to summit Mount Kilimanjaro due to its steep ascent.

Approaching from the south, the Umbwe route is a short and vertical climb. After reaching Barranco camp, the trail turns west before summiting the Uhuru Peak (5895 metres) from Arrow Glacier camp. It does not provide the gradual stages for acclimatization. The Umbwe route is therefore attempted mostly by very experienced trekkers only who are confident in their stamina to adjust to the fast rising altitude. The descent is made via the Mweka route.
