Pakistani mountaineer Asad Ali Memon became the first Pakistani and Asian to summit the Mount Kilimanjaro within 24 hours.
The mountaineer in an Instagram post said, “Alhumdulillah, I became the only Asian & Pakistani to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in less than 24 hours,” said.
Memon shared that it took him only 20 hours to summit and return to the gate of Africa’s highest mountain. Memon descended to the “start point-Umbwe Gate” of Mount Kilimanjaro on February 14, 2021 morning.

According to the Pakistani Embassy in Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is the world’s unique standalone mountain.
The Umbwe route has a reputation of being the most challenging route to summit Mount Kilimanjaro due to its steep ascent.
Approaching from the south, the Umbwe route is a short and vertical climb. After reaching Barranco camp, the trail turns west before summiting the Uhuru Peak (5895 metres) from Arrow Glacier camp. It does not provide the gradual stages for acclimatization. The Umbwe route is therefore attempted mostly by very experienced trekkers only who are confident in their stamina to adjust to the fast rising altitude. The descent is made via the Mweka route.
