PM orders reconstruction of Murree Expressway

MURREE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to reconstruct the Murree Expressway and effectively resolve land sliding issues.

During his visit to Murree on Thursday, the prime minister directed to devise a plan at the earliest for the supply of water to the tourist city.

On the occasion, National Highway Authority (NHA) officials gave the prime minister a detailed briefing.

The prime minister ordered that keeping in view the standards of the Hazara Motorway, the Murree Expressway should be repaired, adding that a lot of money has already been wasted.

In addition, the prime minister said that steps should be taken for the reconstruction of Murree Link Roads. He also directed to expedite the construction of a cricket stadium in Murree.

PM Shehbaz Sharif also directed to start the stalled work of construction of hospital in Murree and to work out a strategy for giving higher secondary status to the high school of Rawat village.

The prime minister took stern notice of the illegal constructions in Murree and ordered to conduct a survey in this regard.

He said rest areas should be constructed after 15 kilometers. He also directed to provision of best possible facilities to tourists.

He also directed to prepare a development plan for New Murree which would preserve the beauty of the scenic hill resort.

Minister for Communication Maulana Asad Mahmood, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were also present.
