At least nine people have lost their lives in rain- and snowfall-related incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since January 22, according to a report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The fatalities include seven children, one man, and one woman. The report also states that five houses were partially damaged due to the ongoing spell of adverse weather.

Several incidents, including landslides, roof collapses, and avalanches, were reported from Chitral, Malakand, Shangla, and Khyber districts. These incidents disrupted daily life and caused damage to infrastructure in the affected areas.

Authorities said that efforts are underway to reopen roads blocked by snow and debris, while relief activities continue in the affected regions.

The PDMA has warned that another spell of rain and snowfall is expected to begin from tomorrow night and continue until Tuesday in the upper districts. Residents have been advised to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel during the harsh weather conditions.
