Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced public holiday across the province on the occasion of 1st of Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 AH (2026).
According to Administration Department notification, the holiday will be observed in accordance with the decision of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee regarding the sighting of the moon and the commencement of the new Islamic year.
All government offices and other public institutions across the province will remain closed on 1st Muharram, notification added.
Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 AH will begin in Pakistan on Wednesday, June 17.
