Shah Rukh Khan was a regular guest on the first three seasons of Koffee with Karan. He didn’t appear in the fourth season but made a comeback to kick off the fifth one. In a recent interview, the show’s host, Karan Johar, shared whether Shah Rukh will be returning for the eighth season, especially since he didn’t participate in the last two seasons.

“Shah Rukh is there, but I don’t think he wants to be in the forefront. He deserves his silence. As fans and filmmakers, we should give him that,” In the interview, Karan mentioned.

Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t been doing interviews or appearing on talk shows since his son Aryan Khan’s drug case in 2021. But in the last season of Koffee with Karan, his wife Gauri Khan did come on the show and talked about the challenges their family was facing at that time.

In 2004, Shah Rukh Khan started the very first episode of Koffee with Karan with his co-star Kajol, with whom he had worked in three films directed by Karan Johar. In the second season’s opening episode, they were joined by their Kuch Kuch Hota Hai co-star Rani Mukerji.

Shah Rukh Khan was a guest on three episodes of the first season of “Koffee with Karan.” One of those times, he appeared with his wife Gauri, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan, who were a couple at the time. He also shared the couch with his “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” co-star Amitabh Bachchan in the season finale.

Shah Rukh Khan appeared alone in Season 3 of the show and started Season 5 with his co-star Alia Bhatt from “Dear Zindagi.” To explain his absence in Season 4, he made a joke that he purposely stayed away to lower the show’s ratings.

Shah Rukh Khan didn’t show up on Season 6 of the show due to rumors of a disagreement with Karan, but they later patched things up. The reason he wasn’t on Season 7 was because he had been focusing on his movie “Pathaan,” which marked his return to the spotlight this year.

The 8th season of “Koffee with Karan” will debut on Disney+ Hotstar at midnight on Thursday, starting with an episode starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
