England’s Test series victory in Pakistan on Monday was praised as “huge” by captain Ben Stokes, who noted that the team’s newfound aggressive strategy is continuing to bear fruit.
Before this week’s last game in Karachi, England won the series by defeating Pakistan by 26 runs in the second Test after winning by 74 runs in the first game in Rawalpindi.
Both victories were the result of aggressive hitting known as “Bazball,” named for new coach Brendon “Baz” McCullum, who has completely changed the squad since taking over in May.
Since McCullum and Stokes took over, England has won eight of the nine Test matches they have played.
In spite of the fact that they haven’t toured Pakistan in 17 years because to security concerns, England has already won three straight series there.
Stokes, who has now led his team to three victories in as many series, stated, “Not for a minute are we going to think it’s just another Test series win.”
“Beating Pakistan in Pakistan is massive. We know what we’ve achieved, we know that it’s a very special thing in English cricket to come here and win.”
Despite the fact that it is “a very unique time to be an England cricketer,” Stokes insisted that the team must remain grounded.
“One thing we do is we stay in the moment,” he said.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, regrets the frequent mistakes made in the first two Test matches.
Azam, whose team has now lost two home series in a succession after being defeated by Australia earlier this year, stated that “we are making the same mistakes and are unable to finish the games.”
Azam lamented the two innings’ worth of batting disasters.
He did, however, have respect for Abrar Ahmed, a spinner who took 11 wickets in his first Test match.
He remarked, “Ahmed used the circumstances well and it was a good start for him.
On Saturday, the last Test begins in Karachi.
