Al Nassr led by Cristiano Ronaldo out of Saudi Super Cup in semis

• Saudi Pro League’s Al Nassr lose 3-1 to Al Ittihad in the semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup.
• Al Nassr has been knocked out of the tournament.
• The club’s next destination would be Al Fateh on Feb 3.

Al Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, was eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup on Thursday after falling to Al Ittihad 3-1 in the semi-final in Riyadh.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner and 37-year-old Portugal international was well restrained by the Al Ittihad defense for the majority of the game despite having a few scoring opportunities.

The 67th-minute goal by Al Nassr’s Anderson Talisca was insufficient to erase Al Ittihad’s two first-half goals from Romarinho and Abderrazak Hamdallah.

Adding the third three minutes into stoppage time was Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti.

The Saudi Pro League’s Al Nassr will next visit Al Fateh on February 3.
