Australia has revealed its 15-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against India, set to kick off on November 23 in Vishakapatnam. The Australian team, led by Matthew Wade, promises a potent blend of experience and promising young talent.

Notable inclusions in the squad are star batsmen David Warner and Steve Smith, who make their return to the T20I team after missing the South African series. However, the team will miss the services of Ashton Agar, who has been sidelined due to injury.

As part of a strategic move, multi-format all-rounders Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh, along with fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood, will head back home following the conclusion of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. They will prepare for the upcoming Test summer, featuring series against Pakistan and West Indies, scheduled to begin in Perth just eleven days after the conclusion of the final T20I match in India.

George Bailey, the Selection Chair, expressed his contentment with the squad, emphasizing the balance of experience and emerging talent. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform well in the five matches against India.

“It’s an experienced squad with a mixture of players who have had their first opportunity on the international stage and that we hope will continue to develop into important players in our T20 group,” said Bailey. He also noted that Matthew Wade’s leadership qualities and previous captaincy experience make him a suitable choice to lead the team during this series.

Josh Inglis and Sean Abbott, who are part of Australia’s World Cup squad, along with traveling reserve Tanveer Sangha, will remain in India. IPL stars Tim David, Matt Short, and Nathan Ellis will join their Australian teammates in the subcontinent upon the conclusion of the World Cup.
