Carlo Ancelotti has consistently placed Los Blancos as his top priority, despite being strongly connected to a job in Brazil, which is why Real Madrid chose to extend his contract before Christmas, according to Spanish news site Relovo.

With two games remaining, Madrid leads La Liga and has already qualified for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) Round of 16, despite having a roster full of injured players.

The article also stated that the club values Ancelotti’s work and the way he has guided the team—particularly Madrid’s youthful core, which has quickly taken over the team—and handled the whole transition period.

The Whites also hope to retain all of Ancelotti’s coaching staff for two more seasons, including his son Davide Ancelotti, who serves as his assistant.

It is noteworthy to note that Madrid has used on-loan striker Joselu, who has been a member of the first team since the season’s start, in place of a starting number nine (striker) this year.

For over a year, Ancelotti has been strongly linked to the position in Brazil. There had also been rumors that the 63-year-old might leave Real Madrid, but all signs point to the Italian player staying in the Spanish capital for another two years.

After being fired by Real Madrid in 2015 for a season without a championship, Ancelotti returned to the Spanish team in 2021 to start his second spell there.

The Italian led the Los Blancos to both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League (UCL) championship in his debut season (2021–2022).

Under Ancelotti’s coaching, Madrid’s team went on perhaps the best run in UCL history, facing Chelsea in the quarterfinals, Manchester City in the semifinals, Liverpool in the final, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the round of 16.
