The highly anticipated final of the Pakistan Super League 9 will feature Multan Sultans taking on Islamabad United, but the big question remains: who will emerge victorious and lift the coveted PSL trophy this season?
While Islamabad United has clinched the PSL trophy twice before, making this their third final appearance, Multan Sultans have also proven themselves as strong contenders. Despite not having Haider Azhar as their general manager this year, they have impressively reached four finals in the last four years, showcasing their strong match-up game and strategic use of data analytics.
As the 2021 champions, Multan Sultans are eager to equal Islamabad United's record, while Shadab Khan's squad is vying for their third title, which would make them the most successful team in PSL history.
Throughout the season, Multan Sultans have been dominant, with only Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United managing to defeat them. Despite losing to Islamabad United in the group stages, Rizwan's team bounced back in the playoffs with a convincing seven-wicket victory, demonstrating their mental strength and overall talent within the squad.
