Maria B, a well-known fashion designer, apologized on Friday after facing criticism for recording a photo shoot in a graveyard.

The fashion designer came under fire from a member of the Bahawalpur’s ruling Abbasi family for shooting there without permission. Chang Khan said that the model in the shooting video was dancing on his grandfather’s grave when he released screenshots of the video.

Netizens criticised the designer and called her out on the inappropriate act shortly after the images went public. Maria B issued an apology and removed the footage of the session from her official Instagram account in response to the reaction on social media.

The designer stated, “The recent shoot for our brand was planned and executed by a production house with the concept of showing our magnificent cultural heritage in Bahawalpur,” wrote the designer. “The shoot was edited and published without any prior knowledge about the significance and sanctity of the site. We are grateful to the people who have pointed out this mistake and we have taken immediate action by removing all the relevant content,” she added.

Over the years, the name Maria B has become well-known as a designer. People are aware of her collections, designs, and strong opinions on a variety of subjects that she presents on social media. Due to her comments on the movie Joyland and the supposed propagation of LGBTQ ideals in Pakistan through the media and social media, she has recently been involved in public fights. She earlier called for a ban on Joyland and has subsequently been speaking out strongly against the transgender problem.

In a recent episode of Sar e Rah, Muneeb Butt is depicted as being intersex, and how his father, played by Nabeel Zafar, is very sensitive to situations, which helps him achieve his goals. Yet a drama clip that was taken out of context and went viral gave the impression that Nabeel was indoctrinating the youngster with trans ideas.

Maria B pointed this out as a subliminal promotion of the LGBTQ agenda. She declared that she will continue to advocate for intersex people while refusing to let the transgender agenda overshadow the true intersex community and its struggles.

When analysing the programme, Faysal Quraishi called Maria B out on her fury and asked, “What does she want us to place Pathaan posters in the drama?” It is a Pakistani movie, he claimed, therefore advertising it is acceptable.
