During a recent appearance on the Sweet or Savory podcast, social media star Bretman Rock recounted some of their most memorable—and most awkward—celebrity encounters. While one meeting left a positive impression, another quickly went south.
Rock, who is nonbinary and uses all pronouns, said their favorite celebrity encounter was with supermodel Adriana Lima at a New York Fashion Week afterparty in 2017. “Chill, kind, and exactly the vibe you want,” Rock described.

However, when asked about their most disappointing celebrity interaction, Rock didn’t hesitate. “I don’t like her,” they said, referring to Vanessa Hudgens, and then shared details of an awkward run-in during a sponsored trip to Coachella.
The incident occurred at the SugarBear Hair house during Coachella around 2017–2018, at the height of the influencer era, complete with flower crowns, brand events, and everyone showing off their online clout. Rock was there to pick up festival passes when they noticed the brand’s CEO, whom they already knew. The encounter with Hudgens, however, did not go as smoothly.
