Nicole Kidman has finally addressed the challenging chapter of her life following her divorce from Keith Urban, reflecting on a period marked by personal introspection and quiet resilience.
In a recent interview with Variety, the 58-year-old actress spoke candidly about the past year, describing it as a time when she stepped away from the spotlight to focus on personal matters. Known for acclaimed projects such as Big Little Lies and Babygirl, Kidman acknowledged that the previous year was far from her usual whirlwind of activity.
“Not last year,” she remarked when told that every year seems to belong to her professionally. “I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell.”
However, the Oscar-winning star appears ready to embrace a new phase with renewed enthusiasm. Looking ahead, she expressed excitement about upcoming projects, including Practical Magic alongside Sandra Bullock. “Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go.’ I’ll be in full witch mode,” she said with a hint of optimism.
Despite the emotional upheaval surrounding her separation, Kidman emphasised that family remains her greatest source of strength. She noted that she and Urban remain united in their commitment to their daughters.
“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward,” Kidman explained. “Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be.”
Kidman and Urban ended their nearly two-decade marriage after announcing their separation in September 2025. The actress formally filed for divorce the following month. During their relationship, the pair welcomed two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
Kidman is also the mother of Bella and Connor, whom she shares with her former husband Tom Cruise.
On the professional front, the celebrated actress is currently promoting her latest television project, Scarpetta, an eight-episode drama series that premiered on Amazon Prime Video on March 11. As she moves forward, Kidman appears focused on balancing her creative pursuits with the enduring importance of family.
